The Concert in the Park August 15th 2013

The Concert in the Park is again returning this summer. The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District, with the help of the Raleigh Park Neighborhood Association (RPNA), will hold a free concert. Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District is planning a series of neighborhood concerts in various parks throughout the district. Our own Raleigh Park has again been selected to host one of these very special events! Mark your calendar for Thursday August 15th from 6 to 8 PM. Curtis Salgado will be the headliner for our concert (for more informationhttp://www.thprd.org/events/summerconcerts.cfm?eventid=702).

Curtis Salgado -- Burst out of the Pacific Northwest thirty years ago as lead singer for The Robert Cray Band, then briefly fronted Roomful Of Blues before embarking on an impressive solo career. Clean Getaway, his first release since he survived life-threatening hepatic disease and received a liver transplant, cements his reputation as one of the best blue-eyed Soul singers on the planet.

Sara Jackson-Holman will open the concert with warm and soulful melodies.

It is literally from out of the blue that pianist/singer-songwriter Sara Jackson-Holman was launched onto the national music scene. For the then 20 year-old Whitworth University piano and writing student from Bend, Oregon, nothing could have prepared her for the trajectory her life was about to take; propelling her from student life, to recording her first CD, to hearing her debut single Into the Blue (from her debut album When You Dream) close out the ABC hit show Castle in the emotional Season 2 finale, all in a matter of months. Recently, her songs have been placed in MTVs Chelsea Settles and CWs Ringer, Her debut; garnered rave reviews and comparisons to chanteuses Adele, Amy Winehouse and Feist.
